Toronto Gesneriad Society Show 2011

I’m back at work and so sore and tired so this’ll be quick. Here are some pictures I took at last week’s Toronto Gesneriad Society Show.

Episcia 'Karlyn'

Saintpaulia 'Smooch Me'

Saintpaulia 'Dawn Michelle'
Saintpaulia ‘Dawn Michelle’ – One of my favourite African Violets ever? The almost black stems holding the delicate pink flowers makes an otherwise un-remarkable plant something very nice.

Streptocarpus 'Iced Artistry'

Columnea 'Sunny'

Sinningia 'Deep Purple Dreaming'
Sinningia ‘Deep Purple Dreaming’ – This plant had sort of purplish green leaves and darkish purple flowers so that hit of bright green on the calyx was maybe the most unexpected thing on this plant.

Sinningia 'Magic Moment'

Sinningia leucotricha
Sinningia leucotricha – Last year I saw the fuzzy leaves of this plant, this year I got to see it has awesome flowers too.

Sinningia insularis
Sinningia insularis – I saw this plant at a mini-show a few weeks ago, definitely awesome.

Sinningia cinnabarina
Sinningia cinnabarina – Cuttings of this plant have been selling in the clubs auctions on a regular basis for about $20 or so. Some day one of those will be mine.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures, my whole set can be found here.

Ooh, that last one is awesome. And it is Sinningia, not Smithiantha cinnabarina? Wow.

    What great photos, thank you!

  3. Andrea says:

Beautiful photos and lovely plants. I specifically love the last one, S. cinnabarina, but it’s very expensive! Don’t you think it’s expensive at $20 per cutting, meaning the plant will be triple that!

Cool. That chirita minutimaculata is particularly sexy. Wish I could have gone.
