Introducing Morgan

In August we took in a small kitten, who we have named Morgan.

Morgan

He was picked up by a cat lover my mom works with who saw him limping as she was driving and took him to her vet. We aren’t sure exactly what happened but he had to have his back left paw removed and we got him after his surgery had healed on August 17th. His name Morgan comes from Captain Morgan, the pirate. Though I don’t see any reference to Captain Morgan himself having lost a leg but whatever, he wasn’t a cat either.

Despite spending the first few months of his life as a feral kitten (estimated birthday by the vet is mid-June) he has become increasingly accepting of everyone here including our older female cat, Emma, who started treating him like her own kitten shortly after he came to live with us and our dog, who is a little bit unsure of what to make of the kitten but otherwise has no problems with him. He’s also generally well behaved around plants, although apparently Kohleria is one of the most delicious houseplants to dogs and cats alike.

Happy Halloween!

  1. I tried to leave a comment and pick your post with Blotanical. Strange code comes up and does not allow this. You may want to write to Stuart about this. Another blog had the same problem and then it was fixed.

Anyway, my comment was on what a cutie you got there. I hope Morgan learns to get along with his housemates. My two cats were both feral, and lived with my huge dogs, one for 19 years. So they learn.

Awwww…how cute! He’s simply adorable. Happy to hear he’s now off the street and in a loving home.

  3. He is beautiful! It is great that you took him in even though he was injured and that your other pets are so accepting. Both my parents and I have often been tempted to adopt more cats but our little tabby Harley is extremely intolerant of other animals…

    Morgan is definitely cute!
